First poster from an Osteoclast Biology beginner

Although it is said that text books are couple of years delayed sciences, compare to journal articals which report up-to-date findings, I bought a book titled Bone Resorption (edited by Felix Bronner, Mary C. Farach-Carson and Janet Rubin, published by Springer-Verlag London Limited, 2005) at IOF (International Osteoporosis Foundation) World Congress on Osteoporosis 2006. The reason for me to have this expensive book (189 pages for greater than 200$) is that, I am a beginner of osteoclast biology. I have to start from the basics. Unfortnately, I have not read through any single chaper. What is my problem?
