I have many reasons why just a few people joined Cross Country. Here are some of my reasons why many people did not join.

My first one is the people in my class at Cross Country are the only people who want to run and the rest of the students do not. People in our class do not like running so of course they won’t join a whole club about running.

My second reason is that they do not believe they could do it. Some people just give up without trying.

My last reason is that the people who joined Cross Country last year learned that you have to run really hard to stay in the team. If you walk too much, you get a meeting with Mr. B/Ms. T/Ms. F/Ms. S and might get kicked out.

Running is hard but at least some good things happen! A few positive things happen if you join (and run well). The first one is if you like running activity but you are very   bad at running, you get a chance to practice it! Another advantage is if you are a person who does not exercise enough, you get to exercise a lot! Another advantage is if you complete every race (first race, semi-finals etc.) in 1 (very unlikely) you will get a very good reward.

There are some good things but also some bad things. The first bad thing is the rest of the same day of a practice, your legs and feet feel all sore. The other disadvantage I can think of is you do not get much practice for the race. You only get 6 or 7.

Therefore, the Cross country team is a great way of getting exercise. Maybe I should join the next exercise club called Track and Field!
