Taekwondo

Today was my Taekwondo test in the YMCA!

Taekwondo is a Korean martial arts which specializes mostly in kicks. It was created in 1940 by nine Kwans. It also got in the Olympics as the WTF (World Taekwondo Federations). In 1955, the Kwans decided to call it Tae Soo Do which translates to stomp, hand, way. But in 1957 Choi Hi suggested to call it Tae Kwon Do (Stomp, fist, way). The Kwans agreed and called it Taekwondo. Taekwondo became very popular after that.

I take my Taekwondo classes in the YMCA and I am about to be senior yellow. In Taekwondo there are 13 belts. To get to the next belt, you need to get certain strips. Then you take a test. If you succeed, you move to the next belt.

Taekwondo is quite tricky. Don’t you think so?
