A Tragedy’s Long Shadow – Summarized from May 23, 2015 Toronto Star.

May 28, 1975 was the bloodiest and the most insane school shooting day in Canada.

Sixteen-year-old Michael Slobodian went to Brampton Centennial Secondary School on May 28, 1975 with a guitar case holding two rifles. His shooting started in the washroom and within five minutes, he had killed 3 and injured 13. He then after shot himself in the head.

This memory still haunts the students to this day. It has made some fears along with some inspirations. Everybody is a bit frightened at school now. But it has inspired some to be police, or doctors because of the shooting. “It’s like the worst day of my life, but in some ways it was the best, because I made it through.” says Scott Thompson, one of Slobodian’s friend who has witnessed the shooting.

It was the craziest school shooting. Good thing is that I wasn’t in it!
